Doberman Mama & Pups Looking for Their Forever Home

Today I had the great pleasure of playing with — I mean photographing — an adorable litter of Doberman-mix puppies and their mom. The puppy bellies! The puppy breath! The little paws! The sharp teeth! Wait, those sharp teeth I could do without. But those bellies! And that sweet puppy smell! Oh my! I spent about an hour and a half visiting them at their foster home, playing with them on the deck, and photographing their sweet faces and silly antics. Katie Jo Before the Snow

During the day on February 26, 2011, just a few hours before the snow started, I saw Katie Jo outside splashing around in the puddles. Luckily I had my camera handy and was able to snap a few shots. How cute is she? Seriously!

Savannah Leigh’s Birth Announcement

In mid-February I was asked by my very dear friends to create a birth announcement for their sweet little baby Savannah Leigh. I, of course, jumped at the chance! Savannah’s mom and I have known each other our entire lives. Savannah’s dad and I met my senior year in high school and became fast friends. For years I told them they needed to meet each other and then, one day, they finally did. Yay! Now they have this beautiful little baby girl. Needless to say, the whole family is very special to me, so I wanted to create something very special for them!

Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl, Mary and Travis!

San Diego Snow!

This weekend, we visited the family ranch in hopes that the big storm would drop some snow on us. And guess what? IT DID! IN SAN DIEGO! Can you even believe it?! The snow started late Saturday night and fell through morning. We woke up just before the sun rose over the mountains and went outside to photograph the valley. This is my favorite photo of the day — first thing in the morning, Roxy was so excited to run and play in the snow, she barked and ran away if I tried to hold her to take a photo.

And my Roxy-puppy around 11:45 p.m. 12/22/10 after getting sprayed by a skunk. (All we had was tomato soup — it was worth a shot but it didn’t work at all. If you need to de-skunk a dog, use a mixture of 1 Cup peroxide + 2 Tablespoons baking soda + 0.5 teaspoon original Dawn dish soap).

Window to Wyoming

Last September, Greg and I took a trip to Wyoming. We visited Jackson, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone National Park. It was amazing and I fell in love. Pack my bags, I’m ready to go (maybe I should spend winter there before I make that decision final, though). But since up and moving to Wyoming isn’t in the cards right now, I decided to enlarge my favorite of all favorite shots from the trip to 16×24, mount it to 24×30, and frame it. I call this one “The Lone Journey.” I found an amazing frame shop, called Swift Frame, and the owner helped me pick out the perfect matting and frame. We hung it on our bedroom wall, and Greg commented that now I have a “window to Wyoming.” What do you think?

Photographic Gallery Wraps

I just got in some gallery wraps that I created for a family I photographed in November. They are so gorgeous! The photo is printed on canvas and wrapped around wooden stretches. It comes with an attached hook, so it is ready to hang straight from the lab.

We did something a little different with these particular wraps — instead of having the photo wrap around the edges, we created a custom border. Check it out! What do you think? Be sure to leave me some comments. :)

New Photo Products: Coasters & Keepsake Boxes

I am so excited about these new products: tumbled stone photo coasters and custom keepsake boxes. The 4″ x 4″ coasters include a cork backing so it won’t damage your table. You can get them all with the same photo or four different ones for no additional cost. And I am so in love with these keepsake boxes!!! The outer shell is completely customizable and is available with a smooth photo cover, canvas photo cover, or linen cover. It’s available in 4×6 or 5×7 and is perfect for displaying. The Bench

I visited The Lodge at Torrey Pines yesterday to photograph a lovely luncheon. I was there early and took the opportunity to walk around a bit. I saw this bench sitting outside one of the banquet rooms. It overlooks the golf course and I could just imagine sitting there all afternoon. Would anyone care to join me?

Holiday Email
