A few updates

I have been working on a few really exciting projects this week! One is the design and layout of the 2011 America’s Heroes calendar. Most of the people working on it (including me) are doing it on a volunteer basis. All proceeds of the calendar will benefit Freedom is Not Free, an organization dedicated to helping our wounded veterans and their families.

Another project that I’m excited about is a branding package for a pet-friendly home cleaning service, Four Paws Cleaning. I just presented the first round of six logo ideas. I hope the owner likes them; I think they’re quite eye-catching and memorable!

Pet Photography by Westway Studio

Just yesterday, one of my wonderful print vendors, Troy from Rush Press in San Diego, referred me to a client of his who just happens to be one of my favorite charities: Helen Woodward Animal Center. They are having their annual Spring Fling in two weekends and were in need of a photographer to cover the event. After speaking with the Special Events supervisor, it was agreed that I would shoot the event. I am so excited! I am going to be including an advertising piece for my pet photography in the goody bags. I designed it last night and sent it off to print this morning. As many of you know, my business has grown through word-of-mouth, so to do an advertising piece is a big deal for me. I’m thrilled with it and can’t wait to see it in finished form…

A new client website launch

A few months ago, I met with an artist about creating a website. Last week, she contacted me to move forward with the project. I love working with other artists, so I was really excited for the project. The site launched today and I’m thrilled with the result: http://www.karenangelia.com

Trade Show Booth

A few weeks ago, I was asked to design a trade show booth for Digital Map Products featuring one of their products, Spatial Stream. I’m thrilled to see it in finished form! I’m currently working on a variation of this design for CityGIS—another product of theirs—so hopefully I’ll be able to post a photo when it’s finished, too.

Village Tart

A few months ago I designed these posters for Village Tart, a café and bakery in New York City. Today, I was sent photos of what they look like finished and hanging. I am so excited about them, I have to share them! If you’re in NYC, go check out Village Tart!
