A few updates

I have been working on a few really exciting projects this week! One is the design and layout of the 2011 America’s Heroes calendar. Most of the people working on it (including me) are doing it on a volunteer basis. All proceeds of the calendar will benefit Freedom is Not Free, an organization dedicated to helping our wounded veterans and their families.

Another project that I’m excited about is a branding package for a pet-friendly home cleaning service, Four Paws Cleaning. I just presented the first round of six logo ideas. I hope the owner likes them; I think they’re quite eye-catching and memorable!

Amelia’s Photo Session

Today I visited Old Poway Park with Amelia, Elijah, and their mom Jennifer. What a beautiful day for taking pictures! The kids had fun running around and watching the train as it took riders on a tour around the park. This was technically Amelia’s photo shoot, but we tried to sneak in a few of Elijah, too (he was more interested in the train than the camera)!

QGOV BBQ

Today I photographed the QGOV (a division within Qualcomm) BBQ. What a GREAT division! Phil’s Barbecue cooked up some delicious food (even veggie burgers for the vegetarians like me!). One of the QGOV employees did a great job moonlighting as the DJ. People also had a chance to enjoy playing horseshoes and volleyball. Here are a few of my favorite shots (group shots intentionally left out for privacy)…

Helen Woodward Spring Fling

This past Saturday I volunteered my photography skills for the Helen Woodward 2010 Spring Fling. It was a fantastic event! Here are just a few of my favorite shots. Although everyone looked great, I’m purposefully leaving out portraits of the guests for their privacy. One of my favorite things about the event were the volunteers walking around with the adoptable animals. I wanted to take them all home, but especially little Foxy, the little Cattle Dog mix who reminds me so much of my Roxy (can you hear me at the dog park? “Roxy! Foxy!”).

OK, on to the photos…
